Working behind the scenes with our exclusive Bamboo Baby models

Our Philosophy

The idea of Bamboo Baby came to me when I was pregnant with my second baby. The first pregnancy was traumatic from the prenatal stage to the birth - multiple extra scans, to no understanding of why he was measuring so small, to anxiety in the final weeks of not knowing what was truly wrong. My first child was postnatally diagnosed with Down Syndrome - the signs missed in America and in the United Kingdom. That wasn’t the traumatic part though. It was Mason’s aftercare and the lack of knowledge to meet his needs. And, there were the multiple hospital stays in very scratchy, fast fashion synthetic blended baby grows that didn’t help the situation, or his skin. In addition, I’ve always had an aversion to ducks, dinosaurs, and tractors on baby clothing. Nearly 12 years ago, an organic yet minimal baby clothing brand didn’t exist. This was my time to start, and leave an imprint on the world with Mason’s story behind it. Bamboo Baby is now almost reaching it’s 3rd birthday and the journey has been truly memorable - moments of exhilaration, heart ache and countless hours in the stock room building the brand has been worth every story and every order.

Our philosophy is actually very simple - purchase pieces in our minimalist range once, layer for all seasons and then give it to another bamboo. Also, we want to limit our carbon impact on the world, so that bamboos can inherit a beautiful Earth, one that outlives us.

Our range is only made of certified organic cotton - grown in sustainable conditions and our garments are slowly made under an ethical foundation.

We hope you love our story, and thanks for being a part of it.
